What is Cellfina?
Cellfina is an innovative cosmetic procedure for cellulite. It got its FDA approval in 2014 but it has not reached the hype until recently. Cellfina procedure is the first treatment that significantly improves the appearance of dimpled skin or so-called orange skin. The results last around two years and can last even longer with a number of patients.
How does it work?
Cellfina actually targets fibrous bands that are the main cause of cellulite. They pull down the skin and create those dimple looking skin appearance. Cellfina releases those fibrous bands and in that way removes cellulite.
How long does it take to see results?
After the treatment, it takes around three days to start seeing initial results. It may take a longer time to see end results. It all depends on the personal reaction of every patient to the treatment.
What does the procedure look like?
Cellfina procedure has to be done under the supervision of a board certified physician in a sterile setting. Firstly, the physician will examine the patient and mark the areas with dimples and mark the dimples. Then local numbing cream will be applied to those areas. After that, the treatment begins. It takes around one hour to complete the procedure. After the procedure patients are advised to slow down their tempo. They can get back to their daily activities but avoid exercise and some overbearing activities.
What are the side effects?
There are no serious side effects associated with Cellfina treatment. The most common side effects associated with Cellfina treatment include bruising and soreness. The bruising usually goes away within first 4 weeks after the treatment. With some patients, bruising can persist for 6 weeks. Eventually, it goes away and you can enjoy your cellulite free skin. Soreness goes away within first two weeks after the procedure.
